Sworn translations

In Spain, a sworn translation (also called a public, legal, official or certified translation) is a translation that can only be carried out by a Sworn Translator appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MAEC).

Sworn translations have legal validity before any official organism or authority.

Signed and stamped

Sworn translations are issued on paper, as they must bear the statement certifying it is tru to the original, and the signature and stamp of the sworn translator.

When are they needed?

They are generally necessary if the document has to be submitted to an official body (public administration, court, solicitor, academic institution, etc.). However, this requirement may be conditioned by the body in question or the type of document. It is therefore advisable to find out the exact type of translation required in each case.

Interpreting

Are you going to an international conference? Do you need to make a call abroad? Do you need someone to accompany you for your administrative procedures?

Effective communication is one of the most important aspects in life, and even more so in the business world.

Sometimes, a little help from a language specialist is just what it takes to ensure smooth and agile communication. We invite you to find out which type of interpreting is best suited to your needs: bilateral, escort, consecutive, simultaneous...

Liaison or bilateral interpreting

The interpreter translates as the speech is delivered, which makes in situ communication easier. This is the most frequent mode in interviews, press conferences, negotiations, etc.

Escort interpreting

This is a service similar to liaison interpreting, but the interpreter accompanies you wherever you need to go for administrative procedures or other purposes.

Consecutive interpreting

The interpreter takes notes of the speaker's speech and at the end, s/he renders it in the language requested. This type of interpreting is mainly used at conferences and for speeches.

Simultaneous interpreting

This type of interpretation is generally carried out in a booth and in teams of two interpreters who take turns. This is the most common method used in congresses and large events.* We do not provide any interpreting equipment.

Whisper interpreting

With this technique, the interpreter stands next to the person and whispers the translation into his/her ear.

Sworn interpreting

In this case, we rely on the intervention of a sworn interpreter appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They are called upon for meetings at the notary's office and in court, or to testify before an official body when necessary.
